Mother’s Day is almost here and I bet some of you are scrambling for Sunday-Funday activities to do with Mom this weekend. Why not get outside with mom and enjoy the weather? Here are a few ideas for an outdoor Mother’s Day.
Have a picnic:
Instead of sitting in a restaurant, grab your siblings, mom, and a basket of organic fruits vegetables, and park yourself on a picnic blanket. To avoid waste, don’t use paper or plastic, opt for real silverware. A great idea is to make your own cheese plate with some delicious cheeses from around the world, some concord grapes, and quality bread or crackers…don’t forget a special bottle of wine to toast mom!
Go on a hike:
Mom always used to tell you to get some fresh air so now you can return the favor. Find a local hiking trail and get some exercise. Make sure to bring a camera so you can take pictures of the wildlife you see and then put the best picture in a frame as a present for your mama.
Canoe trip:
If you live near a river or lake, rent a canoe or row boat with mom and enjoy the sights and sounds of the water. You can feed ducks or just watch the fish pass you by.
Day at the beach:
If you are fortunate enough to live by a beach, pack some sunscreen and spend the day frolicking in the waves and collecting shells…maybe you’ll even relive your childhood by building a sandcastle!
No matter what you do with mom, make sure that you make her feel as special as she made you feel while you were growing up and enjoy your outdoor Mother’s Day!
